Saw recently Surfwise. It´s a great, great movie/documentary but it could only be great because the story behind the movie is indead unique, fantastic fenomenal.
Izzy, I grew up in Queens New York, knew nothing of surfing, I moved to Florida at 24 and discovered surfing, moved to California 2 years later, and have been surfing 20 years now. My knowledge of surfing history is limited because of my late start. I just watched Surfwise, and wanted to say God Bless you, your family, and all you have done for surfing. Surfing has changed my life, and so has your story.
Founded by his legendary surfer father, Dorian “Doc” Paskowitz, in 1972 with his wife and nine children, the Paskowitz Surf Camp runs classes each summer in California, Mexico, and Montauk, N.Y., welcoming and teaching surfers of all ages and levels and sharing their love of this incredible sport. The Paskowitzes, known as “the first family of surfing”, like to say that they don’t just teach people to surf---they create surfers. Over the 33 years of its existence, Paskowitz Surf Camp has introduced countless ordinary people---and plenty of famous people from the worlds of music, movies and business—to the laid-back surfing lifestyle.
